What does a ruptured eardrum feel like?

I was diagnosed with an ear infection on saturday and was prescribed antibiotic and pain meds for my ear. My ear is starting to drive me crazy. I feel like as if there is something stuck in it. Then I hear this ringing and sometimes it just pops out of nowhere.
